Isaac

I love both of my nephews and my niece like crazy. I may complain when I’m asked to babysit them, but that’s mostly me being lazy and not wanting to make three peanut butter and jelly sandwiches at the same time. But I do adore them, equally. However, my nephew, Isaac…he was the first ‘kid’ to ever really come into my life. I was never one of those girls who babysat anyone’s kids growing up, and there were never little kids running around my family. So Ike was it for me. He fascinated me to no end from the very beginning, and now, at seven, he still continues to with some of the things he says and does.

This song came up (from the way-back files) on today’s randomized listening of my 11,647 songs today.  It’s a wonderfully touching song about a babysitter, as told by the kid.  Reminds me why I loved Dar Williams so much.  :)

This is a video I made for my friend Stacey Koziel, when she opened for us (Treading Bleu) at the Old Dog Tavern, a few weeks ago.  It’s a brand new song called “Castaway” that will be on her upcoming split with Corey Bickford.  :)
